An Investigation on the Reproduction of the Common Carp ( Cyprinus carpio (Linnaeus, 1758)) from Çildir Lake-Turkey

Abstract: An investigation was made on the gonadosomatic index (GSI) and egg diameter of the specimens of the Common Carp ( Cyprinus carpio) caugth from Çildir Lake in the period of 1991-93. The most intensive period for the reproduction was recorded in June-August, when water temperatures were 12.9, 19.6°C respectively.
