Abstract: This paper is a theoretical study of the electric field in a not completely symmetric system, comprising an earthed metallic sphere and a uniformly charged dielectric plane, for the sphere's points situated in the plane determined by the sphere's centre and by the vertical symmetry axis of the dielectric plane.
