The Flora of Kelkit Valley

Abstract: The flora of Kelkit Valley was investigated between 1990 and 1993. In the vegetation period, a total of 2800 plant specimens were collected. At the end of the study, 1316 species and subspecies and 519 genera belonging to 105 families were established. Of these, 132 taxa are endemic to Turkey and the ratio is 10.03%. The rates of taxa which are included in certain phytogeographical regions are as follows: Irano-Turanian 14.75%, Euro-Siberian 12.69% and Mediterranean 11.40%.
