Turkish Journal of BotanySilene hamzaoglui (Caryophyllaceae), a new species from Çekerek (Yozgat, Turkey)Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Arts, Bozok University, 66200, Yozgat - TURKEY Abstract: Silene hamzaoglui Budak sp. nova is described as a new species from Çekerek (Yozgat, Turkey). The specimen was collected from calcareous rocky places, at an altitude between 1140 and 1180 m. The new species is similar to Silene duralii Y.Bağcı and Silene capillipes Boiss. & Heldr. The differences among these 3 species are discussed. Key words: Silene, Macranthae, systematics, taxonomy
