Abstract: This paper deals with a floristic study of Karagüney Mountain (Kırıkkale/Turkey). The study was carried out during 1989-1991 and 2500 vascular plant samples were collected. Eight hundred and sixty-eight taxa of 378 genera have been identified. Fabaceae, Asteraceae and Poaceae are the largest families and Astragalus L., Silene L. and Salvia L. are the largest genera in the area. The endemism rate of the area is 13.1%. The classification of the taxa into three main chorological units shows that Irano-Turanian elements are predominant. Threatened categories were proposed for 109 taxa according to IUCN categories.
